Our Core Values: The Three Cs

Celebrate
Man was created to worship God. And so at Cornerstone, we place a high value on celebrating, exalting and worshipping Him! Often in the Scriptures we are urged to join with others – even a great company of worshippers – in bringing Him our worship. We long for our weekend services to make much of Him and give all of His people a foretaste of heaven. Since the Father is seeking true worshipers; those who worship “in spirit and truth,” we are careful to let His Word guide, inform and instruct us. Every prayer, every song, and certainly every message must line up with the truth we find in the Scriptures. We unashamedly point people to the Bible, believing it to be the very words of God. Our goal is that the weekend celebrations will cause people to delight in His Word and mediate on it day and night. (Psalm 1; Psalm 33; John 4:21-24)

Connect
At Cornerstone, our goal is to connect people to God through Jesus Christ in authentic faith. As people are drawn to Christ, it is God’s plan to connect them to one another, forming the church. The church is a unique group of individuals whom God has chosen and adopted into His family. Within the church family each member has been given gifts and specific functions in order for the church to function as a healthy body. It is in the context of relating to each other under the authority of Christ that we discover how each member builds up the church. Since we value God-centered relationships, we strive to build a community of believers who are channels for His love, serving God and one another. To that end, we have a variety of small groups that we call Connection Groups. This is where “church really happens” as God’s people pray for one another and spur one another on toward love and good deeds. (1 Corinthians 12:12-31; Hebrews 10:24-25; 1 Peter 2:9-10)

Contribute
God’s church is to be deliberate about its divine mandate to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Both regionally and globally, we seek to serve others according to Jesus’ example and command by carrying the good news of salvation to everyone. We want to glorify God in our community by loving others the way He does. And we must look to the horizons, prayerfully asking for the privilege of taking His message to every tribe, tongue and nation. We desire to be a church which reflects God's heart for the lost and His heart for the world. (Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 19:10; Revelation 5:9-10)
